Delicious Cajun Shrimp Pasta Recipe: Quick and Easy Creamy Tomato and Garlic Sauce!
Here's how you make it:
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 onion, diced
- 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (or dry white wine)
- 8 ounces pasta (like linguine)
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy/whipping cream
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup Parmigiano Reggiano (Parmesan cheese), grated
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
Directions:
- Start by boiling a large pot of water.
- While waiting for the water to boil, heat oil and melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp seasoned with Cajun seasoning and cook until done, about 1-2 minutes per side. Set aside.
- Add diced onion to the pan and cook until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Then add red pepper and cook for another 3 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook until it smells good, about a minute.
- Pour in the broth, scraping up any brown bits from the pan with a wooden spoon.
- Cook the pasta in the boiling water until al dente, about 7-9 minutes, and then drain.
- Meanwhile, add tomatoes, cream, Cajun seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Bring it to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer.
- Add the grated cheese and cook until it melts into the sauce.
- Drain the pasta, toss it with the sauce and shrimp, and garnish with parsley.
Option: Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice to the sauce at the end.
