A hot and cheesy dip filled with shrimp and andouille sausage, bursting with Cajun flavors!

On the menu for the weekend football party or upcoming Mardi Gras celebrations is this delicious Cajun shrimp and andouille cheese dip. Inspired by my favorite Cajun ingredients and flavors, it's a blend of shrimp seasoned with Cajun spices, andouille sausage, and bacon. Here's how to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 4 strips bacon
  • 1/2 pound andouille sausage (or kielbasa), diced
  • 1/2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 pound shrimp, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Parmigiano Reggiano (Parmesan cheese), grated
  • 1 cup mozzarella, shredded

Directions:

  1. Cook bacon in an oven-safe pan for about 5-7 minutes. Set it aside on paper towels to cool, then crumble it. Keep the bacon grease in the pan.
  2. Add diced andouille sausage to the pan and cook over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes. Set it aside.
  3. Toss shrimp in Cajun seasoning and add them to the pan. Cook until just starting to turn pink, about 2-3 minutes. Set them aside.
  4. Add diced onion, celery, and pepper to the pan and cook until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add garlic and Cajun seasoning, cook until fragrant for about a minute, and then remove from heat.
  6. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, parsley, crumbled bacon, cooked sausage, shrimp, cream cheese, mayonnaise, and mozzarella.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a preheated oven at 350°F/180°C and bake until the cheese is melted and the sides are bubbling, about 15 minutes.

Serve this Cajun shrimp and andouille cheese dip with crackers, bread, toast, or crostini for dipping and enjoy! Note: Shrimp are only partially cooked in the pan to avoid overcooking during baking.
